Happy Birthday Celebrate Recovery

It’s really hard for me to believe that we are about to begin Celebrate Recovery for a fourth time, what an incredible Blessing! It started in a room with 3 people who wanted to address the issues in their lives and now it is a ministry that is touching hundreds of people each month. From the meal time at 6.00 to the Worship at 7.00 and the open share groups that follow, people are coming together every Friday night to allow the God of second chances to remove the chains that have imprisoned them for most of their lives. From Co-dependency, overeating, shopping, overworking, drugs, and alcohol………Celebrate Recovery helps people deal with the Hurts, Hang ups, and Habits of life.

Celebrate Recovery has helped many of us get back on the right track of living the kind of life God intended for us. From the days of Moses to now, God has talked of a promised land, a place of peace, a land of milk and honey. Just as the Israelites did, we tend to want to follow our own agendas, our own will and sometimes the wills of those around us. We seem to know what is best for us until it flies apart. God allows us to wander in the wilderness as long as it takes for us to realize we are not in control: that he is. It is at this point he will show us a clear path and give us the tools that enable us to get there. That is what Celebrate Recovery is all about.

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry led by people who have been there and done it, people who are on the road to recovery and are now eager to share how God helped them. We all know how important it is to be able to talk to someone who understands what we are struggling with and that is what you get, honest people who care about you and what you are going through. You do not have to go through the pain that life sometimes brings alone. At CR, you can always find someone that is willing to share some time.

I want to personally “Thank” all of you for making this ministry what it is. It’s not just done by the folks in leadership in CR or at Christ Church, it’s about all of us together, reaching out to Christ and to one another. That is how we make a difference. Help us make 08 the best yet.
