Life Hurts… But God Heals! Do you remember being a teenager? Do you remember how difficult it was sometimes… never knowing who to trust, feeling so much confusion, sometimes pain and hurt along with it? Maybe you’re a teen reading this and thinking… yep, I’m feeling that right now! Well, if you’re a teen, or know a teen who is going through some rough times in their life, you may want to bring them to the Life Hurts … God Heals program. Life Hurts is a program that is designed to help teens learn how to deal with their problems in healthy ways – with God’s help and the help of other loving Christian adults. Let’s face it, sometimes we have stuff happen to us that is not all that great. Maybe mom and dad are going through a divorce, maybe a loved one just died, maybe your best friend has betrayed you, maybe you are abused, or maybe you are just overwhelmed with all that is going on around you. Life Hurts addresses all those issues and the baggage that comes along with them. Because dealing with these issues may cause you to feel depressed, lonely, angry, hurt, rejected… the list is endless. When we feel these feelings and are unsure how to handle them, we try and cover them up with unhealthy habits, cutting/self injury, drinking, sex/pornography, drugs… all these things only offer a temporary ‘good feeling’ and not a fix to the problem.
The fall session of Life Hurts God Heals will start on Tuesday, September 4th from 6:30PM - 8:00PM at Christ Church (Mt. View) in the old worship center. We will meet on Tuesday nights from September 4th - December 4th. All Jr. and Sr. High Students are welcome! What your peers are saying about it: People I know kept telling me to come to Life Hurts because it would help me with my problems. And it really has. It makes you think about what matters most… God… and following the right path. I would tell my friends that if you go, you might get something good out of it, and it might help you find a way to solve the problems you are having! – Juan, age 14 – Christian, age 13
